Each conference is hosted by a LA (or can be jointly hosted by neighbouring LA's). We rely upon volunteer LA's to undertake this task but support will be provided. EBDOG Conference Leeds 2023 - Hilton Leeds City Hotel

The EBDOG conference provides a great opportunity for delegates to meet and network with colleagues from local authorities, the DfE, EBDOG Executive Committee and regional members and our sponsors. Speakers and workshops are planned throughout the conference to cover pertinent topics for local authorities in the area of education capital and pupil place planning.
Pre-conference dinner – Thursday 22nd June
Conference delegates are offered the opportunity to attend a pre-conference dinner free of charge on Thursday 22nd June. Join us for welcome drinks from 6:30pm for the opportunity to network with EBDOG delegates and our sponsors before being seated at 7pm for welcome speeches and a three-course meal served from 7.30pm. During the evening there will be performances and special guest championing Leeds as a wonderful place to learn and grow up in and celebrating its status as 2023's City of Culture.
Conference – Friday 23rd June
The main conference starts with registration and refreshments from 8.30am. Presentations start at 9.30am and will kick-off with an introduction to the conference and a rundown of the agenda for the day by Graham Olway (EBDOG Executive Committee Chair). Tom Riordan, Chief Executive of Leeds City Council, will welcome you to Leeds followed by presentations from speakers, including the DfE. After lunch delegates have a choice to attend 2 of 4 possible workshops covering themes around SEND, place planning, Land transactions, Net Capacity and DfE data collections.
The conference will close at 3:30pm with some time for delegates to continue to network until 4pm if they wish to do so.

We are delighted to announce that EBDOG conference is coming to Sheffield in 2019! The venues will be held at Sheffield Town Hall and Sheffield Hallam University’s Charles St Lecture Theatre.

Spending Well Conference 2018 - Birmingham -

The Department for Education (DfE) and Educational Building and Development Officers Group (EBDOG) hosted a conference, ‘Spending Well on School Places’ on 13th September 2018 in Birmingham. The aim of the conference was to help Local Authorities to improve their capital efficiency and explore ways to make their money go further. The day included a keynote speech from Lord Agnew, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the School System. Conference material and presentations can all be found in our document centre.
