Planning restrictions relaxed on construction site working hours to enable contractors to make up for lost time.

In a ministerial statement issued by Secretary of State for Housing Communities and Local Government issued on 13 May 2020 measures are being taken to to relax planning restrictions on construction site working hours to enable contractors to make up for lost time. This is particularly important for education construction projects where September deadlines are essential to meet basic need. The measures include extended working hours to 9pm Monday to Saturday and in some non-residential areas to potentially allow 24hr working where appropriate.
