Prioritising schools for the School Rebuilding Programme - have your say!

Published: Mon 19th July 2021

In June 2020, the Government announced the next phase of plans for improving the condition of the school estate, focused on a 10-year programme of school rebuilding. The school Rebuilding Programme was launched with a commitment to replace or refurbish buildings at 500 schools over the next decade. The Government have announced the first 100 schools in the poorest condition in the estate, using the department’s Condition Data Collection.

The Government is now deciding how they prioritise schools for the next phase of the programme and they want to hear the views of schools, Local Authorities and those responsible for school buildings, in particular, on the proposals they have developed.

A link to the consultation can be found here and the deadline for all responses is 8 October 2021.
