Information on Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC)

Published: Wed 5th December 2018

The Department for Education (DfE) and the Local Government Association (LGA) wish to make building owners aware of a recent building component failure in a property constructed using Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC).

RAAC was generally used in construction in the UK between the mid-1950s and 1980.

The LGA has published information on RAAC along with suggested steps that you need to take as a responsible body.
